The apartment:
We’re moving into a 3-bedroom, 2-bathroom, 1,100-sq. ft. apartment just five blocks from the Graham Avenue stop on the L. The room available is the master bedroom, which has its own bathroom. The room easily fits a queen-size bed, a desk, and furniture. Its windows face our private backyard to the north. The backyard is gorgeous thanks to lots of manicuring by the current tenants. The backyard is private—just for us—and we have access to it from the basement. In the basement are two storage lockers for our use, totaling about 160 square feet. We’re on the first floor in a lovely, well-maintained building occupied mostly by young working professionals. The three of us will be sharing a kitchen, a dining alcove, and a living room.
Us:
We are two ladies in our early 20s who met in grad school at NYU. Sam is finishing an MA in American lit while working full-time at a publishing house. She loves cats, J.M. Coetzee, and cupcakes. She is vegan. Olivia is working on her MFA in creative writing and teaching undergrads at NYU. She writes and tutors, and is basically immersed in the creative writing world.
We want to live with someone independent but cooperative. Someone who won’t leave dishes in the sink for a week. Someone who would like to sit down and have a cup of tea together once in a while, but not need to sit down and have a cup of tea together, you know?

22 year old, female, white, gay, single, quiet and low key, very very clean, employed, looking for a room to rent in Brooklyn to be closer to work, currently living in Queens. Would prefer to live with other females or gay males, no couples just because I would feel like I was cramping your style/space. I need my own private space and would love a private bathroom, but not necessary. I am social and friendly but I work a lot and go out on weekends so I wouldn't be home too too much. I wouldn't want to have parties and am not very loud at all but I may have guests from time to time, as most people do. I am very clean, neat, and curtious and will respect your space and belongings. Also, VERY appreciative if some will go out of their way to contact me about a space. Thank you and good luck all!!!
