I am looking for a roommate for the second room in my Upper East Side two-bedroom beginning June 1st. The building is great (24-hour doorman, elevator, laundry, gym) and the neighborhood is safe and has pretty much everything you could need within a few blocks. The room is 12x9, has a very pretty view, its own heater/air conditioner, and is wired for cable. It can be furnished or not, whatever you prefer. The apartment has wireless internet. Rent is $1450 per month, and I'd ask you to split the utilities (electricity, internet, and cable if you have a TV).
About me: I'm a mid-twenties female, grad student, getting my doctorate, and I work as a tutor. My schedule tends to involve long hours, but I'm generally pretty quiet when I'm home. I usually go out and have fun on the weekends, but nothing overly crazy ( mostly going out to movies or a drink with friends; I don't come home trashed). I'm clean but not compulsive about it, and if there is clutter it's confined to my room. I'm allergic to cigarette smoke so I need to live with a non-smoker. I have a cat; she's very mellow and vaguely puppy-like, and gets along very well with people.
