I live in a great rent stabilized building with a live in super, laundry in the basement, and lots of light. There are tons of outlets, nice wood floors, cool moldings and architectural details, and it's only on the second floor. The apartment has air conditioners in each room, an eat-in kitchen, a dining area, large bedrooms, and is nicely furnished (though you'll need to furnish your own room). The bedroom available is a good size (not a tiny Manhattan bedroom), has three windows, and is wired for internet and TV. It has an air conditioner and is right next to the bathroom.
The apartment is close to both the A and 1 train as well as less than a 10 minute walk from the George Washington Bride. The Cloisters and Fort Tryon Park are 4 blocks away. There are two bus lines that pick up right outside the building. Everything you could need - supermarket, pharmacies, restaurants, etc... - is within a few blocks.
You should be responsible, reasonably clean (you don't have to be a neat freak or anything), reasonably quiet (though you don't have to whisper or anything) and be able to pay your rent each month. You will be responsible for 50% of the utilities, which comes out to about $125 a month (water, heat, and garbage are included, but we pay for cable, internet, and electricity). I am a gay guy, so you should be totally comfortable with this.
I am 28, work as an editor for a major publisher an as a freelancer in RPG writing.
I am looking for a roommate as soon as possible (October would be excellent). I understand that it might take longer than that, but at the absolute latest, it would be November 1st. Preference will be given to someone who can move in for October.
